Chief Michael Lee
Chief Michael Lee was appointed as Chief of the Anderson Police Department in January of 2022. Chief Lee is a lifelong resident of Anderson, where he graduated from Highland High School. After high school he obtained a degree in criminal justice from Vincennes University. The Chief has been married to his wife Johna for over 30 years and they have one daughter Katie. Chief Lee is a 29-year member of the Anderson Police Department. The Chief has served the City of Anderson in numerous capacities as a member of the Anderson Police Department. Chief Lee began his career as a Patrol Officer, then he moved onto working in the Forensic Lab and as a Detective. In addition to his performance as a Patrol Officer and Detective, the Chief has been a state certified instructor, Field Training Office, a Swat Team Operator, Sniper and Team Leader. Chief Lee was appointed to the Assistant Chief of Operations in 2008-2011 and then again in 2020. After serving as Assistant Chief from 2020 – 2022 he was then appointed as the Chief of Police. Chief Lee is also a past President of the Fraternal Order of Police Local #48.

Assistant Chief John Konkle
Assistant Chief John Konkle is the Assistant Chief of the Support Division. He was first appointed to the executive staff in March of 2021 as Major and then Assistant Chief in February of 2024. Prior to serving in the executive staff Konkle served as the department’s training officer for 5 years. He is a certified Computer Voice Stress Analyst and Verbal De-escalation Instructor. He currently oversees the Merit Commission, Victim’s Advocate, Intelligence Division, Criminal Investigation Division, and Chaplaincy program.

Assistant Chief Norman Rayford
Assistant Chief Norman Rayford was appointed Assistant Chief on April 4, 2022. He has served with the Anderson Police Department for over 23 years. A/C Rayford has worked in Community Policing, the Traffic Division, the Criminal Investigation Division, and as a sergeant over the A Shift PM uniform division. A/C Rayford was named Law Enforcement of the Year in 2017 and has earned several commendations and awards throughout his career. As Assistant Chief over the Uniform Division, Assistant Chief Rayford oversees the personnel in patrol, the Crash Team, the K9 units, and the SWAT team. Assistant Chief Michael Anderson
Assistant Chief Michael Anderson was appointed Assistant Chief on April 4, 2022. A/C Anderson has worked for the Anderson Police Department for over 28 years. He has worked in the Criminal Investigation Division, as a training coordinator, as a Use of Force instructor, and as part of the Drug Task Force. He has also served as president of the Fraternal Order of Police Local 48. As Assistant Chief of Community Policing and Outreach, he holds the tremendous responsibility of strengthening the ties between the department and the public we serve. Major Caleb McKnight
Caleb McKnight was recently appointed as Major in February of 2024. The Major is the Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police and the department's Chief Financial Officer. In addition to planning and managing the police department's budgets, McKnight is responsible for managing the department's facilities. The Anderson Police Department hired McKnight in February of 2006, and he has held many different positions within the department. McKnight spent most of his high school years serving with his parents as missionaries in Honduras, Central America, and graduated from Emmanuel Christian High School in Wabash, Indiana. McKnight has been married for 20 years and has three beautiful daughters.
